Kinderboekenweek 2010

From 6 - 16 October it's Kinderboekenweek 2010 (Week of children's books). And our local library had the Party of Children's Books.

And a party it was!  After some craft ...

... there was Harmen van Straaten, author and illustrator of children's books. He did some drama, based on his booklet 'Tim en de boot naar Timboektoe' and gave a real drawing lesson.

That was a difficult one for my cuties, but as you can see, they did their very, very best!

Autumn

While the days grow shorter, and the shadows longer ...

... we enjoy summer's last beams of warmth ...

... and the sudden beauty of autumn.

Oh, what a wonderful world we live in!

Bread dough

After our first encounter with bread dough, today it was time for more. While the first time it appeared a bit hard to decide whát to create and how to do this, the second time this abstract thinking was a lot easier.

Look at our results!

Here a receipe for bread dough in Dutch   and in English.

Manic Monday

Again another co-op impression.

While the oldest children enjoyed their board games, the younger ones we entertained with music, movements and circle games.

In the afternoon we had planned to do some nature study in the forest, but due to the weather plans changed and we did some philosophy with kids. Very interesting!

Thank you, everyone, for your contribution!!

Some other things we did

Getting curious...

... what's inside!

Kapla

Dear grandma and grandpa,

I know what I would like to get for my next birthday. Or a bit earlier, if not inconvenient.

Love, Boas

(thanks to them)
