Dairy farm

We visited an organic dairy farm and learned a lot. We've seen newborn calves and a real milk robot. And we've tasted fresh cow milk. Learning from life is so much fun! I think this adventure changed Fera's frame of reference: After I had taken a shower, she said: 'Mummy, you also have to dry your udders (uiers in Dutch), hè?'

My Father knew it was a big wish. Especially a very heavy wish. But nothing is too big or too heavy for Him!

After taking this picture, I went away again. I couldn't stand it... Man, this was scary!! The noises I heard coming from the stairway reminded me of the last stage of a birth (you know), and I discovered that I prefer being not the spectator ;-). But they made it, and there she was .... our little Laurie piano.

reading practice

I got a laminator for my birthday. Wonderful present! It encouraged me to make some reading practice materials again. Since our kids love to play games, I try to make up different word games. The quartet card game I found on this website. You can also find many words and picture cards there, for example to play 'word memory', matching words with pictures. At the moment, Boas and Fera's favourite word game is a combination of 'hide and seek' and 'word memory': we hide cards, we seek them and match them.

We've started sowing our first seeds inside the house. Last year we had our first 'square meter vegetable garden' and I definitely want to give it a go again.

I'm loving it, nature at home. It's such a wonderful way to examine God's wonders day by day. And it makes me looking forward to spring and summer. I'm still not sure whether I was born in the right country, maybe only Boas was (Surinam).... ;-) No, that's not fair. I really, really, really like warmth, but after living abroad I've discovered the beauty and charm of four seasons also! But we'll see what He has in store for us.

Two friends became seven and celebrated their birthday on a heather field. There was a lot of work to do! We had to remove all the little pines that grew on the field. Big saws and cutters were available, and off we went! Of course there was cake and presents too! Boas was very, very excited and worked like a real lumberjack.
