Momo - the mole

Last year we went to an exhibition about nocturnal animals. Do you still remember? We did, and because it was fun, we decided to go to the new exhibition also: Momo the Mole, about underground life. The exhibition was in the NME centre in Woerden, which is located near a great park.

I was looking for a nice way to learn Bible passages by heart and discovered this website: www.bijbelinbeeld.blogspot.com

(The blog happens to be from one of my former colleagues, isn't that fun!?)

We started right away and it seems to be a succes! We enjoy it, used signs to help, and the first passage is in our hearts:  "Laat het veld van vreugde opspringen met al wat erin is; dan zullen alle bomen van het woud vrolijk zingen voor het aangezicht van de Heere. Psalm 96 vers 12 en 13"

We've placed our 'Bible Plate' (Bijbelbord) on our dining table, and it offers nice opportunities to practise the passage and talk about the meaning. So in the past week we talked about how God's creation honours and praises him, by simply being there and doing what it is created for. And in this way we can also praise God: being the person God made us to be and living a God-centred life.

Hooked on English

"Dutch Homeschool Award Winner"
One of my homeschooling colleagues nominated Action for this, and I think she's right! This time I bought a 'Hooked on English' set. It's this set and we like it. (By the way, Action charges only 15,95 euro ;-) ) It consists of several workbooks, dvd's and cd's, flashcards and reading books.

We like the audio cd best.

Chicken pox

Chicken pox alarm! Fera got them on Boas' birthday and now also Jona has a few. Fera was a bit feverish for a day or two, but did very well. And she recovered soon. We're happy to have a healthy Fera again!

Boas' birthday

Finally, the day had come... Boas' fifth birthday. I can't believe I have been a mother for five years already! What a huge privilege, having such a wonderful big boy.

Teuge International Airport

We've visited Teuge Airport, eh.. beg my pardon.. Teuge INTERNATIONAL Airport, as it is called. Although this outing hadn't much to do with animals, Boas and Fera enjoyed it much. And to me it meant memories of my youth. It reminded me of the countless holidays we spent there with my parents, watching parachutes and planes. Talking about twenty years ago ....

Sleepover cake

Jos and I attended our church' 'Equip-time'. Jona came with us, and Boas en Fera went to a sleepover with aunts and uncles. That's the joy of being a big family :-). And so they went... fully equiped with 2 delicious cakes!

I think they were delicious.... however, we didn't get any chance to taste.  But, came home from the Equip time fully fed, though.
